I Am Me

Self-portrait, 2024

Who am I? Feminine, strong, sad—or dozens of other emotional states that shift like a kaleidoscope throughout the day, or even within an hour…
What is an emotion? Am I this emotion, or does it not define me at all? With what emotional colors is a person painted, and is there something completely unknown hidden behind these colors?

— No.

— "I am not my emotion. I do not follow it blindly; it does not control me."

In the modern world, in the distant past, and undoubtedly in the future, this will remain the number one task for those who wish to finally become the masters of their own lives.

Try it yourself. In the moment when a wave of feelings overtakes your consciousness, separate yourself from it and say, "Stop, this is not mine." Breathe through all the words that rush into your mind and are already pushing to come out. Ask yourself, "Who am I?" Look at yourself in the mirror and feel how the emotion has passed, shifted in relation to you, and ceased to dominate you.

That's it, now "You are You, and I am I"
